TV Program by TV Asahi

This program, a familiar presence in Japanese households on weekday mornings, featured Tokyo Tower with Junji Takada, one of Japan’s most popular comedian-actors. I had the pleasure of serving as his guide and introducing the Tokyo Tower Morning Tea Ceremony.

As Sen no Rikyū’s name means “Sen＝one thousand,” Mr. Takada used this as inspiration to give me the nicknames “Rikyū of One Hundred” and “Mr. Mori of Mori Building.” However, these remarks were ultimately cut from the broadcast.

At the end of the program, he also drew the signature caricature that has become a regular feature of the show.
