Tea Gathering at the Château de Breteuil 2017

We paid a courtesy visit to the Château de Breteuil, where we had held a tea gathering in 2015 with the support of the Embassy of Japan, and presented a small tea demonstration.

At the private residence of Henri-François de Breteuil, 10th Marquis de Breteuil, I had the honor of preparing and offering a bowl of tea from a chabako—a portable tea box—and we took the opportunity to look back upon our memorable gathering of 2015.

Coincidentally, this visit fell on the ninth anniversary of his wife’s passing.

On this day of remembrance, the passage of time seemed to me to move more swiftly than ever.
